"Kato Hideki will perform his acoustic piece Hope & Despair from the CD (Extreme). the piece is a series of photographic moments and emotions, which takes its title from the words of the photographer Robert Frank: "Black and white is the vision of hope and despair". The work is also inspired by the concept of time and space as used in Japanese Noh theater. Kato Hideki will play acoustic bass, accompanied by Kono Masahiko on trombone and Christine Bard on vibraphone and percussion."
