INTERPRETATIONS OF LESSNESS – Lessness was written by Samuel Beckett in 1969 and remains unique among Beckett’s works in that he later produced a “key” to its construction. Laster’s Interpretations of Lessness use Beckett’s construction technique and images from the text as the inspiration for a series of improvisations. The ensemble includes Erik Friedlander (cello), Cuong Vu (trumpet), Kenny Wollesen (marimba, percussion) and Andy Laster (baritone saxophone).
