Mixology 1992: David Behrman

Friday, May 8, 19929:00 pm

Gripping Pieces, recent works using alternative realtime music controllers–photocell-equipped work gloves, electrified mbiras and Buchla lightnings — connected to compositions which take the form of ideas realized with special-purpose music software. With Ben Neill, Mutantrumpet.

A Traveller’s Dream Journal is about transits between a pair of disparate locales, real or imagined. Behrman has worked with Rhys Chatham, George Lewis, The Vesulkas, John Cage, The Sonic Arts Union, and produced the classic 60s Columbia records by Steve Riech, Terry Riley, and Pauline Oliveros.
