This World (and Then the Fireworks), is one part of Minneapolis composer/performer David Means’ Deep Narrative Project, combining visual and text materials, detuned guitar and wind controller performed by the composer with vocalist-violinist Wendy Ultan and sampling wiz Steve Goldstein. A student of both architecture and sound, Means has worked to develop cross disciplinary forms for three decades. His graphic scores, installations and performance systems have appeared at the Walker Art Center, IRCAM (Paris), Documenta IX (Kassel), the Xi An Conservatory of Music (China), Het Stroomhuis (Holland), Logos Foundation (Belgium) and the Arts Council of Great Britain.
