Eclipse Quartet

The Eclipse Quartet is a new music ensemble dedicated to the music of late twentieth century and present day composers in addition to the creation of works of their own. Tonight’s program highlight’s Morton Subotnick’s seminal work Fluttering of Wings for quartet and Ghost Machine as well as west coast composer Roger Reynold’s Ariadne’s Thread, Zeena Parkins’ Quartet no. 1 Persuasion, and John Cage’s Quartet in Four Parts. The Eclipse quartet is made up of four women with strong backgrounds in international and national chamber music performance, new music and recording. Their combined experience represents a wide range of musical styles and collaborations.
