Recently Composed Music

The Ontario Center for Perfoming Arts (OCPA) and Roulette, Inc. will present a concert of recently composed music at the Market House Music Hall, Walter Street. The music will be performed by flutist John Fonville, trombonist James Staley, and percussionist John McCullough. Among the pieces to be performed is “Four by Four,” by Scott Wyatt, a piece for flute and tape. The instrumentation on tape includes both concrete and sythetic signals. Staley will perform an original composition, “Improvisation.” Fonville will perform his original piece for flute, “Neoma,” and participate with others in “Double Negative,” a graphic composition by David Means. Means’ graphic compositions are sculptures as well as scores that are played by the musicians as they move around and through the sculptures. The score of “Double Negative” is approximately eight feet by ten feet in size.
