“Music Is” … Pioneering the farthest reaches of the improvisatory cosmos, master musician Mateen continues to keep one eye on the Kreator and the other on his friends. Like his consciousness, tonight’s show is split in two: first in duo with the stunning performance of Michiko, a sound artist and dancer from Japan with a background in punk and Butoh; and second with his longtime compatriots and ex-housemates, drummer David Nuss and bassist Matthew Heyner: from 188 Suffolk comes The 188 Three. For the first time, this trio will be joined by the internationally-reknown Japanese dancer Nami Yamamoto.
