Three extremists from the world of extended sound – percussionist Butters, clarinetist Mandat and trombonist Staley – present their freewheeling locomotive improvisations with the precision of a Chinese acrobatic team. The three met and forged their union as part of the new music ensemble the Tone Road Ramblers, a fearless group known for their soulful renderings of complex and challenging contemporary works.
