STATEMENTS – In seven years of collaboration the duo “Statements” developed a personal language in their concept of improvising. Each musical statement explores improvisation within a set framework based on structured and open approaches, using prepared piano and a wide range of guitar sounds, which can also be heard on their CD “Statements” (on Hybrid). Ursel Schlicht and Hans Tammen have performed as a duo and with larger ensembles in Germany, France, Russia, and, more recently, in New York.. Ursel moved here in 1994; Hans Temmen lives in Kassal, where both will present various projects at the Documenta X this summer.
