Together for the first time, two master drummers in a concert performance of trap set music. Cyrille, a restless experiimenter also known as a stabilizing force to the musicians around him, cites as a primary musical vision “bring form to life.” His musical associations range from Philly Joe Jones and Mary Lou William to Cecil Taylor to David Murrary, Muhal Richard Abrams, Billy Band and many more. “Victor Lewis is a master of shading and color, and the kind of timekeeper that could teach a clock new ways to tick.” – LA Times. Rising out of the Tony Williams school, Lewis was the first-call drummer for masters like Joe Farrell, Dexter Gordon, and Hubert Laws and enjoyed long-time associations with Woody Shaw, Carla Bley, David Sanborn, Kenny Barron, Bobby Watson, and Stan Getz.
