Ángeles Toledano, a rising star in flamenco, brings her powerful voice and fearless artistry to New York, presenting a combination of tradition and innovation and captures the essence of flamenco in its purest and most daring form. The cantaora will perform some of her new songs in a duo format, alongside her traditional flamenco repertoire, bringing her distinctive perspective to each of the different cante (song) styles while sharing an emotional journey through strength, vulnerability, and resilience. She will be accompanied by Benito Bernal, an important name in the future of flamenco guitar, who has performed with her for many years.
Ángeles has won many awards; toured the US and Mexico as part of Nueva Generación de Jóvenes Flamencos (New Generation of Young Flamencos) show; accompanied acclaimed flamenco performers Arcángel, Remedios Amaya, and Ángel Muñoz; and has been a member of Paco Peña’s flamenco company. Her latest album, Sangre Sucia, explores the duality of heritage and modernity, weaving deep-rooted flamenco cante with contemporary influences.
Benito Bernal made his solo debut at the XXII Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla several years ago, and has accompanied many renowned flamenco artists, including Arcángel, Eduardo Guerrero, and La Tremendita. Their remarkable performance at the Flamenco Festival in London in 2025 was one of the highlights of the event.
