Kendra Shank & John Stowell with special guest Rogerio Boccato perform selections from the duo’s new album New York Conversations (April 2014 release on TCB–The Montreux Jazz Label).  The wide range of material includes mixed meter original compositions, free improvisations, and reimagined jazz standards.  Vocalist Kendra Shank improvises multi-layered wordless collages using an electronic looper and effects in organic interplay with guitarist John Stowell who employs pianistic chords and lines to create rich and unexpected harmonies.  Brazilian percussionist Rogerio Boccato adds color, texture and percolating rhythms to the ensemble’s playful, open, dynamic conversation.  This original and interactive trio pushes boundaries.
