Video artist Kit Fitzgerald returns to Roulette with her lush visual style, presenting two U.S. premieres: Venezia: Dream of Consciousness, a new-narrative video made with composer Peter Gordon, featuring the noted actor Tomas Arana on a nocturnal search through the back streets of Venice; and Outside the Box (Yellow), a performance that explores the parameters of beauty and abstraction through a real-time mix of video drawing, image processing, and sensuality. Featured musicians in Outside the Box (Yellow) include Peter Gordon, Max Gordon, and Blake Leyh.

A livestream will be available free of charge at 8pm on the day of the performance and archived for future viewing.

Kit Fitzgerald is a video artist and director who has created ground-breaking works of video art and live video performance. She collaborates with musicians, choreographers, and theater and opera directors, and also directs music videos and documentaries. Fitzgerald’s work is in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art and has twice been in the Whitney Biennial. She has received grants and commissions from The Rockefeller Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, Tokyo Broadcasting System, NHK, and Sony Japan. Festival prizes include firsts at the International Electronic Cinema Festival (Montreux), Tokyo International HDTV Festival, and International Women’s Biennale (Vienna). Her work is distributed by Electronic Arts Intermix, New York.
