For this extraordinary concert celebrating World Music Institute’s 40th Anniversary—presented by in partnership with Roulette—we are thrilled to showcase two generations of master musicians who exemplify remarkable talent: Palestinian oud and violin maestro and educator Simon Shaheen, who is is recognized as one of the most prominent Arab musicians of our time, celebrated for his exceptional abilities in both traditional and contemporary music; and Mehrnam Rastegari, a critically acclaimed Iranian kamancheh virtuoso, vocalist, and award-winning film composer who has graced prestigious stages around the globe.
This evening promises to be an enchanting celebration of strings.
World Music Institute’s 40TH ANNIVERSARY LEGACY series features artists who have played an integral role in the 40-year history of the organization, have been frequently presented by WMI throughout the years, and have significantly contributed to the organization’s standing in New York’s cultural landscape.
