Friday, November 1

Triple Canopy’s annual symposium is a manifestation of the magazine’s concerns and collaborations, in person and in real time. The two-day gathering brings together artists, writers, performers, and researchers to address the role of culture in responding (or contributing) to a range of critical issues.

7 p.m.: Feminism and Social Reproduction
Silvia Federici with Yasmina Price
A keynote lecture on war, destruction, and the foundations of life by Federici, the celebrated feminist theorist, followed by a conversation with Price, a contributing editor to Triple Canopy.

8:30 p.m.: Killing the Wrong Man
James N. Kienitz Wilkins with Jess Barbagallo, Betsey Brown & Nile Harris
A table read of a misappropriated screenplay and reflection on film industry dead ends.

The 2024 Triple Canopy Symposium is presented in partnership with Critical Minded and hosted by Roulette.

Bé Bếp and Morning Son will be on site selling food and refreshments. Publications and wares will be available from Bungee Space.

Beverages have been graciously provided by Grimm Artisanal Ales, Narragansett Brewing Company, and Zev Rovine Selections.

Triple Canopy is a nonprofit/magazine that works with artists and writers to address the critical issues that define contemporary life. Triple Canopy is committed to cultivating unconventional, unassimilated forms of thought and expression, and to meaningfully supporting the people who produce them. The magazine collaborates with contributors on artworks, essays, fictions, conversations, performances, and books (among other media) from conception to realization, navigating the digital and physical realms where ideas and audiences take shape. In doing so, Triple Canopy strives to not only analyze but alter the structures that influence whose voices are heard, whose stories are circulated, and whose experiences are valued.
