Celebrating More than a Century of Progressive Change

Founded in 1888, the YWCA of Brooklyn is a vital community asset and champion for social justice. As the largest provider of safe, permanent, affordable housing in downtown Brooklyn, the YWCA is a home and safe haven to 300 low-income and formerly homeless women. More than 10,000 people use the building each year, and dozens of community organizations meet at the YWCA.
