Ursula Eagly: Consensual Situation for Involuntary Movement

Ursula Eagly is a New York-based dance artist. Her work has been presented all over this city and also travelled to Albania, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, and Manipur. It’s been supported by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation’s USArtists International program, New York Live Art’s Suitcase Fund, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts’ Emergency Grant Program, the Japan Foundation’s Performing Arts JAPAN Program, the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, and the Queens Council on the Arts. She has been artist-in-residence at Dance New Amsterdam, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, Topaz Arts, and Ur. Rebecca Brooks: SAFER

Rebecca Brooks is an independent dance artist and teacher. Her performance works have been presented by Danspace Project, NADA New York, Not Festival, Dance Films Association / Solar One, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, LaMaMa, Dixon Place, Catch, Veronica Peoples Club, and AUNTS. As a performer she has worked with Marina Abramović, luciana achugar, Walter Dundervill, Maria Hassabi, Susan Rethorst, robbinschilds, and many others. She works as Performance Advisor with both Heather Kravas and Milka Djordjevich. An AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique teacher, Rebecca is currently on faculty at Balance Arts Center and Movement Research, and she also teaches privately. Niall Jones: Reunion and Excess Feature

Niall Jones moved to New York from Virginia, the birthplace. Niall has danced alongside the bodies of Emily Wexler, Jennifer Monson, Leslie Cuyjet, Ishmael Houston-Jones, Tere O’Connor, Courtney Cooke, and Regina Rocke and others.

Our ongoing [DANCEROULETTE] series reflects the commitment to presenting experimental dance that we’ve held since our founding in 1978, particularly the collaborative efforts of composers and choreographers exploring the relationship between sound and movement, choreography and composition. Roulette’s move to Brooklyn in September 2011 has enabled us to initiate a regular season of [DANCEROULETTE] presentations, which now hosts nearly 40 performances yearly.
