Roulette is proud to be a presenting partner of this year’s Jazzfest Berlin in a two-day concert marathon connecting the vanguard scenes of Berlin and New York. Jazzfest Berlin 2020 features over 120 international artists with live concerts in Berlin’s silent green, Roulette in Brooklyn, and across Germany in eight public radio studios. All performances will be live-streamed and broadcast to your home, fostering intercontinental cooperation in spite of the pandemic. The New York portion of the festival will be moderated by Nate Chinen and Keanna Faircloth of WBGO.org. To learn more about the full 4-day festival, click here.


Joel Ross’ Good Vibes // MEOW!

Joel Ross and his band present his elegant and complex compositions, bursting with extravagant melodies. Something feline surrounds the Berlin based quartet MEOW!, which inspires with changes of direction and surprise attacks.

The duo Ingrid Laubrock & Kris Davis is devoted to sonic exploration through improvisation, using its written material as meticulously detailed maps into the unknown. The Jim Black Trio creates a pleasurable tension between tender melody and rhythmic fragmentation.

Tomas Fujiwara’s Triple Double // Potsa Lotsa XL

The sextet around drummer Tomas Fujiwara is extremely agile and powerful. Commissioned by Jazzfest Berlin, Silke Eberhard shows new arrangements of legendary Henry Threadgill compositions with her fantastic tentet Potsa Lotsa XL.
