Contemporary East presents an evening of improvisational music rooted in Eastern aesthetics, featuring a trio performance by Ikue Mori (drums), Charmaine Lee (voice and electronics), and Nava Dunkelman (percussion), followed by solo and duo improvisations from Reggie Nicholson (drums) in collaboration with Yuko Fujiyama (piano) and Nava Dunkelman (percussion).

We seek to cultivate meaningful opportunities for artists of diverse backgrounds and disciplines to collaborate and share their work through public programs, while building awareness of aesthetics in Asian-inspired music.
