Spirit Stronger Than Blood: A “Fare-Well” Celebration of the Music of Frank London

Frank London is a trumpeter-composer who has released over 50 albums and played with artists including Lester Bowie, Itzhak Perlman, John Zorn, Iggy Pop, Gal Costa, LaMonte Young, Celia Cruz, Esma Redzepova, LL Cool J, and They Might Be Giants. London is a founder of the Klezmatics and leader in the revival of Yiddish music.

Spirit Stronger Than Blood is a celebration on the eve of London’s bone marrow transplant to hopefully cure his rare blood cancer. It celebrates his three new recording releases, and all of his past works.

The Klezmatics are Grammy Award winners & the world’s leading Yiddish music group. The Elders and Conspiracy Brass are both releasing their premiere recordings. Frank London’s Klezmer Brass Allstars have toured the world and just released Chronika! A Night in the Old Marketplace; Salomé: Woman of Valor; 1001 Voices – A Symphony for a New America; and Ghetto Songs are all acclaimed projects that will be represented in this concert.
