isabel crespo pardo returns to Roulette for the second show in their 2023-2024 Roulette Residency.

“Mighty Angel…come down clothed in rainbow-head” (2024) is a performance exhibiting the tension between our hopeful and despondent tendencies, created by isabel crespo pardo & Anna Abondolo. Making use of voice, plucked strings, and fixed media, they create a tumultuous confession of existence, shadowed and encased in tulle and foil. Becoming multiplicitous creatures, they oscillate between aspiration and dissociation in their imagined sanctuary.

isabel crespo pardo (they/them) is a NYC-based latinx vocalist, improviser-composer, and interdisciplinary artist. Their work actively entangles music, visual art, text and performance, always evolving to reflect the intra/interpersonal spaces they inhabit. A native of California and based in Brooklyn, Anna Abondolo is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, movement, art, and theater. A graduate from the New England Conservatory, Anna studied bass performance with a concentration in music technology. Curious about individual experience, her work investigates memory, spatial environments, and their relationship to the body. Anna uses a combination of traditional notation, graphic scores, and text, writing for instrumental ensembles, vocalists, electronics, song, and bodies.
