Health and Safety Protocols

For over 40 years, Roulette has presented new and adventurous art to audiences interested in the evolution of experimental work. In order to continue pursuing our mission amidst the challenges and uncertainties presented by COVID-19, Roulette has created a robust safety plan outlining policies and protocols to protect the health and safety of our staff, contractors, performers, clients, and broader community. Please note, we will continue to update our policies in adherence with the latest health and safety guidelines and protocols.

Everyone entering Roulette must abide by the guidelines outlined below. An inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public space where people are present. By attending an event at Roulette, you accept this risk and agree to help mitigate it by following Roulette’s health and safety protocols.

Vaccination and masks are recommended but not currently required to enter Roulette.

Limited Contact with a Confirmed Case

If you had close contact with someone (i.e. spent more than 15 cumulative minutes within 6 feet of someone) with a confirmed case of Covid-19, you may continue to work on site at Roulette and do not need to quarantine as long as you are not experiencing any symptoms and as long as your contact with person with the confirmed case is not ongoing. Please do the following:

  • Take a Covid-19 test immediately upon learning of your exposure and on day 5 after your exposure.
    • Negative test: continue working on site as scheduled; you are highly encouraged to wear a mask whenever you're within 3 ft of others until receiving a negative test result 5 days after your exposure.
    • Positive test: stay home and follow the advice below regarding testing positive.
  • Continue to monitor for symptoms in the 10 days following your exposure.

Ongoing Contact with a Confirmed Case

If you live with some who has tested positive or otherwise have ongoing close contact with someone with a confirmed case of Covid-19, please do the following:

  • Inform your direct supervisor and Roulette’s Operations Director and Executive Director of your exposure date.
  • Stay home until the person with Covid-19 reaches day 5.
  • Monitor for symptoms; if symptoms appear, follow the guidance above regarding experiencing symptoms.
  • Take a Covid-19 test 5 days after your close contact started experiencing symptoms or tested positive.
    • Negative test: return to work, wear a mask at all times for another 5 days.
    • Positive test: stay home and follow the advice below regarding testing positive.

If you test positive for Covid-19, take the following steps:

  • Inform your direct supervisor and Roulette’s Operations Director and Executive Director of your positive test date and, if applicable, the date you started experiencing symptoms.

Positive Case with Symptoms

  • Stay home and isolate for 5 full days. Day 0 is your first day of symptoms.
  • After 5 full days, if you have been fever free for 24 hours and your other symptoms have improved, you may return to work. Please wear a well-fitting mask at all times for an additional 5 days (i.e. until the 11th day after your initial exposure).
  • If you still have a fever after 5 days of isolation and/or your other symptoms have not improved, continue to stay home and isolate and contact your doctor for further guidance on when to end isolation. You must stay home until your symptoms improve and you have been fever free for at least 24 hours.

Positive Case with no Symptoms

  • Stay home and isolate for 5 full days. Day 0 is the day the sample was collected for a positive test result.
  • If you tested positive but never developed symptoms, you may end isolation and return to work after 5 full days, provided you wear a mask at all times for an additional 5 days (i.e. until the 11th day after your initial exposure).

If you have symptoms consistent with Covid-19, please stay home.

  • Call in sick.
  • Undergo testing immediately for Covid-19.
  • Inform your direct supervisor and Roulette’s Operations Director and Executive Director of your test results.

Then do the following based on your Covid-19 test results and the presence of symptoms:

  • Negative test with symptoms: Stay home, test again, contact your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen. Return to work only when your test is negative and your symptoms have resolved.
  • Negative test without symptoms: You may return to work.
  • Positive Test: See guidance below.
