Famed Argentine dancer/choreographer Guillermina Quiroga, one of the world’s leading tango dancers, will be joined by her longtime partner, Mariano Logiudice, who recently appeared with her in Evita at New York City Center; dancers Adriana Salgado and Orlando Reyes, champions at Tango Salon 2021 and Stage Tango 2019; and the Latin Grammy award-winning Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet (bass, violin, bandoneon, piano), one of the most compelling tango ensembles today. They will perform Tango in Concert, a brilliant program that brings to life the passion, soul and beauty of Argentine tango. The concert will feature classic, traditional and modern styles of tango, and original compositions by Pedro Giraudo.
Guillermina Quiroga was described in The New York Times as “a beautiful dancer…elegant, dignified, commanding,” Her extensive credits include the mythical Tango Argentino and Forever Tango on Broadway, several films including Valentina’s Tango, world tours with singer Julio Iglesias, and choreography for the 1998 Olympic ice dancing gold medalists. She has influenced the role of women in tango, and trained many of the world’s favorite tango dancers.
