In the Hyperstring Project violinist Jon Rose engages MIDI controllers measuring the physicality of high speed improvisation. A sensor mounted on the violin bow measures bow pressure, an accelerometer measures bowing arm movement and speed, and foot pedals are played independently by both feet. This is rogue counterpoint between independent body movements, controller devices, the violin and lines of musical information.
