MIXOLOGY: Matthew Ostrowski

Thursday, April 28, 20118:30 pm

Matthew Ostrowski is a pioneer in live electronic music, having worked as a composer, improvisor and installation artist for over 20 years, exploring work with alternative controllers, multimedia, and theater. An unreconstructed formalist with a continuing interest in density of microevents and rapid change, his work has been seen in festivals on every continent except Antarctica. He has performed solo and with a variety of international musicians, and is currently most active as one half of KRK with contrabassist George Cremaschi and audio visual trio Fair Use.

Ostrowski will be performing two works with the collaboration of inanimate systems: “atopia:levigation and apophenia”, an audio-visual work for live webcrawler, and “Three (out of four) States of Matter”, for a common household experience and live processing.
