[ROULETTE KIDS] Face the Music

Monday, November 12, 20127:30 pm

Face the Music is thrilled to present a concert of chamber and conducted works showcasing the expressive side of today’s young composers. Two lyrical works by fresh faces crown the program: Conrad Tao’s passionate Second String Quartet, and “4 NYC Things” by young Composer Craft student, Abe Gold. The “chestnut” on the program is Philip Glass’ exuberant Fifth Quartet. The kids will include playful works by Ljova (“Asha” for string quintet) and DBR (“La, La, La, La” for chamber orchestra) as well as the “Canción de Verano” by David Amram. This is just the first of nearly 20 concerts these kids will give in a lush season presenting collaborations with JACK Quartet and International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).
