A night of arresting timbres and conceptual original music celebrating the album release of Scott Wollschleger’s Between Breath. Compositions by Wollschleger – recently described as “a small masterpiece” by The New York Times – will be performed by violin/violist Miranda Cuckson, percussionist Kevin Sims, trombonist William Lang, and pianists Karl Larson and Anne Rainwater, all close collaborators of Wollschleger. The program will be highlighted by the New York premieres of the hyper-virtuosic Secret Machine No. 7, a major new solo violin work by Wollschleger, and the premieres of Between Breath, Lost Anthems, and Fish of the Sea.
