Ms. Yawaza will introduce Roulette’s audience to some of Japan’s cutting-edge composers, in works ranging in style from the most serious to the technopop. She will also premiere Jet Lag Lounge, the first piece for solo piano by pioneering post-proto-modernist composer Scott Johnson, an early and frequent combatant in the battle to infiltrate classical concert halls with unorthodox music.
