The pianist/composer/bandleader performs solo compositions for piano, amplified piano, and electronic keyboards plus group improvisations with cornetist Butch Morris and drummers Samm Bennett and Ikue Mori. Horvitz is known for his precarious colortistic voicings, quirky seductive melodies, and razor-edged improvisations. He performs with The President, The New York Composers Orchestra, Naked City, Robin Holcomb, Bobby Previte, John Zorn. Bill Frisell, and many others. His music is released on Elektra, New World, Black Saint and other labels.
