Assif Tsahar’s Brass Reeds Ensemble is a brass band brought into the realm of modern music. Influences from twentieth century classical music, jazz, world music to free improvisation are organically interwoven to become inseparable. The group also explores the connections between improvisation and composition through the relationship between each individual musician. Brass Reeds creates sound sculptures from quiet serenity to explosive energy. With Kwang Fu, Herb Robertson, Chris Tonas, Rob Brown, Joe Daly, Assif Tsahar and others.

Assif Tsahar (born Israel, 1969) is a tenor saxophonist and bass clarinetist. He has lived in New York City since 1990.
