MV Carbon: Liquiddd Changesss album release with special guest Scott Kiernan

Sunday, November 6, 20228:00 pm

The multidisciplinary artists MV Carbon and Scott Kiernan will celebrate the release of Liquiddd Changesss, the collaborative album from Carbon and Charlemagne Palestine (Kill Rock Stars /5 Rue Christine, out Nov 4) with solo sets and video manipulations by Kiernan throughout, as well as the premiere of the music video for lead single “Glass from Sand”.

About the artists:
MV Carbon is a multidisciplinary artist focusing on media manipulation, sonic feedback, sound morphology, and the transformative interrelationship between sound, image, space, and place. Carbon’s music unravels lucid abstractions, weaving dreams into tangibility. Electric cello, voice, magnetic tape, field recordings, oscillators, and synthesizers form alluring and unsettling sonic experiences. Sculptural objects function as musical instruments, amplifying the ritual, rhythm, and momentum embedded in music. Carbon taps into the mystery of the human mechanism, exploring themes such as interchangeability, regeneration, and the transmogrification of mind and matter. Carbon interprets sound as a living organism which has the ability to heighten our senses. Carbon has been producing, performing, collaborating, and exhibiting challenging work consistently for the past 25 years.

Scott Kiernan is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in New York City. Through his video, photo and installation works, electronically synthesized and photographic elements interact to address their own materiality and means of distribution. He is particularly interested in how meaning is shaped through stages of translation via technology, speech and syntax. He is co-director of live televisual performance project E.S.P. TV and director of Various/Artists Records. At Roulette, he will perform a new live work incorporating text with live audio and video synthesis, laser and modified raster displays.
