One of Spain’s leading flamenco guitarists, Antón Jiménez will be making a rare New York solo appearance. Born into a Gypsy family, he is related to the great guitar figures Ramon Montoya and Mario Escudero. His extensive credits include accompanying singer Diego El Cigala and dancer Joaquín Cortés, performing in Carlos Saura’s Flamenco, and composing music for Rafael Amargo. Lola Greco and Rocío Molina. In recent years, he co-directed, composed original music and performed with the Guitarra de Palo film and concert project that united renowned musicians of flamenco and jazz.
